The Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID) is entering a defining moment. With a newly elected Board of Trustees at the helm, PIID is recalibrating its vision to create a more conscious, future-ready design community.
At its core, the Board is clear about its mandate: serve the Filipino interior designer. Yet service, in this context, goes beyond administration. It strengthens standards, expands access to learning, and empowers designers as innovators, stewards, and healers of space.
“We are a service organization,” the Board affirms. But they also see themselves as catalysts—guiding the profession through rapid technological shifts, evolving client expectations, and a growing call for sustainability and wellness in the built environment.

Building on Momentum—With Intention
The previous terms established strong foundations. Now, the new leadership intends to deepen and expand them.
National President IDr. Cecil Ravelas underscores continuity with purpose. The Board will sustain existing programs while integrating inner work and wellness into professional development. The approach is deliberate: honor the past, respond to present realities, and embrace emerging technologies without losing sight of Filipino identity.
This is conscious leadership in action. The Board speaks of alignment, healing, and leading with soul—language that signals a profession evolving beyond aesthetics toward impact and responsibility.

Designing Forward
Individually accomplished, collectively aligned.
The Board’s direction is clear: elevate the profession, expand access, and nurture a culture of integrity and intention.
Yet beyond strategy and structure lies a deeper ambition. PIID wants Filipino interior designers to see themselves differently—not merely as stylists of space, but as leaders shaping environments that restore harmony between people and planet.
The future of design, it seems, begins within.
