Where play is thoughtfully designed, imagination naturally unfolds. For the Hanaraya Play Cafe Project, IEO Studio Inc. created an immersive, child-centered environment that balances playfulness with design discipline. The entrance sets the tone with fluid green forms and illustrated landscapes, establishing a welcoming identity that seamlessly transitions into a cohesive interior narrative. Inside, a village-inspired layout introduces familiar settings—market, restaurant, hospital, and fire station—scaled for children to encourage imaginative role play, while suspended cloud features soften the ceiling and enhance the whimsical atmosphere.
At the core, a sculptural play zone anchors the space, combining slides, ball pits, climbing walls, and tactile elements that support active exploration. Complementing this is a quieter reading nook, defined by warm wood tones and natural light, offering a calm retreat within the environment. Throughout, rounded forms, padded surfaces, and integrated activity panels ensure safety, comfort, and engagement. The result is a well-balanced play cafe—refined in execution, cohesive in design, and thoughtfully crafted to support both interaction and everyday family experience.
